The Utah Constitution bars the Legislature from authorizing 'any game of chance, lottery or gift enterprise,' so Utah has no casinos, card rooms, tribal gaming or state lottery.

Utah players have long made the short drive to West Wendover, Nevada, right on the state line west of Salt Lake City. Southern Utah players head to Mesquite or Las Vegas.
